Preparation for the official DELE exam

The DELE Diplomas are internationally recognized and enjoy great prestige not only among public and private educational institutions and authorities, but also in the business world and with chambers of commerce. DELE Diplomas are official qualifications awarded by Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

Having passed the exams is a great asset when applying for a teaching post at a Spanish-speaking university, or starting a new job which requires knowledge of Spanish.

Our main objective is for future candidates to be adequately prepared for exam success. Spanish-eLearning will assess the student’s readiness to pass the exam, and the teacher’s efforts will be dedicated to ensuring their students pass when sitting for an exam. We review with the student questions and exercises from previous exams, and teach several teaching techniques to taking the exam efficiently. Preparation for the SIELE exam

The International Spanish Language Evaluation Service (SIELE, for its acronym in Spanish), available as of 2016, is a new official certificate which demonstrates a person’s Spanish language competency. This exam is promoted by the Instituto Cervantes, the Universidad Autónoma de México, the Universidad de Buenos Aires and the Universidad de Salamanca, all highly reputable academic institutions.

Applications for SIELE are processed, and exams are taken, electronically. Prior registration at official examination centres is required.

SIELE certifies candidates based on their results on four different exam tasks: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and interaction, and oral expression and interaction. The listening comprehension and oral expression and interaction parts are evaluated by qualified experts on the subject. The reading comprehension and written expression and interaction parts are evaluated electronically.

As with the DELE Diploma, our teachers will guide students at all times on the key knowledge they need to pass the exams.

Differences between the DELE and SIELE exams

• DELE certification is aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level standards of A1 to C2, whereas SIELE certification is based on a scale of 0 to 1000 which includes up to the C1 level of THE CEFR standards.
• DELE Diplomas never expire while SIELE certificates are only valid for 2 years.
• DELE exams are taken in person at more than 900 examination centres on five continents with several exam dates available each year. SIELE exams are taken entirely online through authorized centres with scheduled appointments.
• Generally speaking, these certificates are comparable to their English versions, as the DELE exam is much like the Cambridge certificate and the SIELE exam is similar to the TOEFL exam.
